This week, the Ministry of Health proudly joins the global community in celebrating Rehabilitation Week — a time to honour the dedicated professionals who help individuals regain strength, independence, and dignity after injury, illness, or disability.
Rehabilitation is not just a medical service — it is a lifeline that empowers people of all ages to live their fullest lives. From physiotherapists to occupational therapists, speech-language therapists to prosthetics and orthotics specialists, our rehabilitation teams work every day to rebuild lives and restore hope.

As we observe this significant week, we reaffirm our dedication to: expanding access to high-quality rehabilitation services across Guyana; training and supporting our rehabilitation workforce; integrating rehabilitation into primary health care and community outreach; promoting inclusion, accessibility, and the rights of persons with disabilities; increasing access to assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and prosthetics.
We salute our rehabilitation professionals for their compassion, skill, and resilience. Your work transforms lives and strengthens our health system.
