First Lady Arya Ali Marks Arrival of Guyana’s Largest FPSO, Errea Wittu, for Uaru Development

First Lady Arya Ali, godmother of the Errea Wittu FPSO, joins officials and international partners during the naming ceremony and tour of Guyana’s fifth and largest FPSO, which will operate at the Uaru development in the Stabroek Block.

Guyana’s expanding offshore energy sector has reached another significant milestone with the arrival of the Errea Wittu, the country’s fifth and largest Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, ahead of its deployment at the Uaru development in the Stabroek Block.

First Lady Arya Ali, who serves as godmother of the vessel, marked the occasion following her participation in its naming and tour, describing its arrival as another proud chapter in Guyana’s rapidly evolving energy journey.

The First Lady in a statement said, “I recently had the honour of participating in the naming and tour of the 𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗨 FPSO after becoming its godmother.

This is Guyana’s fifth FPSO and the fourth for which I have had the privilege of serving as godmother, marking another proud chapter in Guyana’s remarkable energy journey.

Following its voyage from Singapore, this state-of-the-art vessel is the first FPSO built by Japanese company MODEC for use in Guyana.

The vessel’s arrival represents another significant leap in the continued growth and development of our country’s oil and gas sector.

At more than 350 metres long, the 𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗨 is the largest oil production vessel to be deployed in Guyana.

It will operate at the Uaru field in the Stabroek Block, approximately 200 kilometres offshore Guyana.

With the capacity to produce approximately 250,000 barrels of oil per day and store approximately two million barrels, the vessel will contribute substantially to Guyana’s growing energy production and economic development.

The 𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗨, whose name means “abundance” in the native language of Guyana’s Warrau people, represents far more than an impressive feat of modern engineering.

It reflects the growing confidence in Guyana and the strong international partnerships supporting the responsible development of our natural resources.

Today, as we celebrate the arrival of the 𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗔 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗨, may it serve as a symbol of our progress, ambition and shared vision for a stronger and more prosperous Guyana.
