First Lady Arya Ali shares special moments with Avinash and Amanda Allie and their three children during the handover of their newly constructed, fully furnished four-bedroom home at Zeelugt, West Coast Demerara, under the Office of the First Lady’s InclusAbility Initiative.

First Lady of Guyana, Mrs Arya Ali, has handed over a newly constructed, fully furnished, four-bedroom home to a family of five in Zeelugt, West Coast Demerara, providing them with a place to call their own and a more secure future.

The beneficiaries, Avinash and Amanda Allie and their three children, received the home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, through the Office of the First Lady’s InclusAbility Initiative.

Two of the couple’s children are completely blind, while the third is visually impaired.

The family previously lived with relatives, but the newly constructed home now provides them with greater stability, comfort and independence, while creating a nurturing environment for their children.

In a statement following the handover, First Lady Ali said, “Today, I had the pleasure of handing over a newly constructed, fully furnished, four-bedroom home to Avinash and Amanda Allie and their three children at Zeelugt, West Coast Demerara, under my Office’s InclusAbility Initiative.

Two of their children are completely blind, while the third is visually impaired.

The Allie family previously resided with relatives, but their new home offers more than shelter; it provides stability and a nurturing environment where their children can grow and pursue their dreams with dignity.

Special thanks are extended to Comfort Sleep, Unicomer Guyana Inc. and Home Zone for their kind support and to Mr Ganesh Singh, Manager of the Centre for Equity, Opportunity and Innovation, for bringing this family to our attention.”

The handover highlights the importance of providing meaningful support to families raising children with disabilities, particularly in ensuring that they have access to secure and comfortable living conditions.

The initiative also demonstrates the role of partnerships in addressing the needs of vulnerable families, with contributions from private-sector entities helping to make the Allie family’s new home a reality.

For Avinash, Amanda and their three children, the occasion marks the beginning of a new chapter, one filled with greater stability, opportunity and the comfort of having a home of their own.
