Pakuri Village Set to Receive Increased Fuel Allocation to Improve Electricity Supply

Representatives of St. Cuthbert’s Mission/Pakuri Village Council and Region Four officials following discussions on increasing the village’s monthly fuel allocation to improve electricity services and advance community development.

St. Cuthbert’s Mission/Pakuri Village, Region Four, is expected to benefit from an increase in its monthly fuel allocation from six to ten barrels, as efforts continue to improve electricity services for residents.

The Village Council announced that plans for the increase are underway following a productive meeting on Friday between Deputy Toshao Leroy Gonputh, Councillors Christella Andrews and Tristan Henry, Regional Executive Officer (REO) Juan Edghill Jr., and Deputy Regional Executive Officer Deryck Persaud.

The proposed increase of four additional barrels per month is expected to provide much-needed support for the village’s electricity supply while the Council continues working towards securing a new generator to improve the reliability of electricity services.

Beyond electricity, discussions also focused on several important areas of community development, including education, infrastructure, part-time employment and opportunities for closer collaboration with the Regional Administration.

The engagement forms part of the Village Council’s ongoing efforts to address the needs of residents and strengthen essential services within the community.

The Council has welcomed the continued dialogue with regional officials as it works towards securing improvements that will benefit families and support the long-term development of St. Cuthbert’s Mission/Pakuri Village.
