New Tarmac Completed at Soesdyke-Timehri Junction as Roundabout Works Advance

Works advancing at the Soesdyke-Timehri Junction, where the new tarmac has been completed as part of the ongoing roundabout project.

Remember the works at the Soesdyke Timehri Junction? Well, here’s a look at what has been happening on the ground.

The new tarmac at the Soesdyke-Timehri Junction has been completed.

This critical feature forms an integral component of the ongoing Soesdyke Junction Roundabout project.

Notably, during the initial excavation phase, technical teams uncovered several illegal water connections within the project boundary.

The Ministry promptly engaged Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) to resolve the issue systematically without causing unnecessary disruptions to legitimate service.

In response, GWI successfully laid a brand-new four-inch water distribution main along the southern side of the road.

Further, the onsite teams from the Ministry are preparing to transition into the next phase of development.

Upcoming activities along the corridor will include relocating the existing police outpost to a more optimal position, completing dedicated washroom facilities for public convenience, applying high-visibility pavement markings, and installing modern street lighting to ensure maximum safety for motorists and pedestrians at night as works advance.

Road users and commuters heading to and from the airport are reminded to exercise caution when travelling through the construction zone and to obey all posted safety signage.

The Ministry of Public Works remains committed to delivering a modernised, durable transit corridor for the public.
