President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali has held discussions with M. A. Yusuff Ali, Chair and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group International, as the global retail conglomerate explores potential investment opportunities in Guyana.
During the meeting, Mr. Ali expressed the Group’s commitment to investing in Guyana and indicated that a technical team is expected to visit the country within the next 30 days to assess opportunities and determine potential areas for investment.
The engagement comes as Guyana continues to attract growing international investor interest amid the country’s rapid economic expansion and efforts to diversify its economy and strengthen trade and commercial partnerships.
LuLu Retail is one of the largest retail operators in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with 267 stores across six countries.
The company also has an extensive global sourcing network spanning 85 countries, giving it a significant presence in international retail and supply chains.
The prospective visit by the company’s technical team could pave the way for a more concrete investment proposal following its assessment of the Guyanese market and available opportunities.
President Ali’s engagement with LuLu Group forms part of his wider efforts to attract international investment and forge stronger economic partnerships as Guyana expands its presence in global markets.
